Jarren, Sadly, you are on point. Similar to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Brunei, and similar places where wealth is unearned and squandered. This resource is finite.

The fact that no publisher was willing to publish his book surprised me. Is it a tell tale sign that the silent majority in Malaysia has given up the fight?

The rot in Malaysia has spread very deep to its roots and the collapse of Pakatan Harapan is just one of many examples of why Malaysia politics will never be able to move away from the pro-Malay policies and why DAP will remain as a Chinese chauvinist party. Malaysia bloated civil service is an example of systematic corruption created by politicians to drain out the country's wealth in order to keep the Malay majority happy. Like a tree in the forest, when the roots start to rot, the tree eventually lost its ability to grow or fight for sunlight to survive. The time Malaysia as a country will wake up is when oil runs out, until then, nothing is going to change.
