Corrupt judges, politically motivated courts, lawyers more in money than justice: the roll call of abuse of legal systems in countries supposedly subject to the rule of law is a depressing experience even for those who are not victims. Worse still they provide murderous generals, absolutist political parties and even religions excuses for rejecting legal processes in favor of the divine right of rulers to judge and decree without hindrance.
