On May 30, Nguyễn Sỹ Cương, a former deputy of the National Assembly and a member of the Communist Party drove his own car and allegedly killed an 18-year-old woman and left her father severely injured. The news was only covered by overseas Vietnamese outlets, such as RFA and social media, particularly Facebook, and not in any Vietnamese domestic outlet.
