The reason the 1948 Partition Plan didn't work was the Arabs rejected it and immediately tried to kill every Jew in the Middle East. There were Jews throughout it - not just in Palestine - at that time.

Frankly I'm embarrassed for your publication that you've put this wildly prejudiced drivel out.

You should be more embarrassed that you can't comprehend the reality of everything he said.

The whole world should have rejected the creation of Israel in the first place, it's been a disaster from the very beginning.

I get the feeling he does understand. But getting back to your central point, what should the world have done to (or for) the Jews in the aftermath of The Holocaust and Stalin's purge of the Jews in trhe USSR?

Seriously, what did Philip Bowring or anybody else for that matter expect from TACO TRump and his lying goons in the fascist MAGA autocratic administration -- jingle bells? By now the world should already be well attuned that was TACO speaks of maybe "two weeks" he means two days. He's a congenital liar. We knew he would launch a campaign against the theocratic Islamo-fascist state of Iran. He was doing the bidding of the monied Jews who could hold the American state, as pissweak as it has been since WWII's end, to ransom. One Jewish dollar is worth a gazillion to America's political class (I stopped using the ridiculously soft Western liberal term "power elite" aeons ago). TACO Trumpist USA is now the client state of the Jewish monied class. So of course Trump was going to bend over to the corrupt racist Zionist clown Benyamin Netanyahu. Sure Israel's air force could have bombed Iran nuclear sites but it had to take the US big bombs to blow the facilities deep down and sky high. Here's a question: Why hasn't the US given the Israelis these bunker-busting bombs so they do their own dirty work? I've already answered that question for you. I make it sound so easy; the reality is much more complicated, especially the Israeli-US relationship, which most people either do not understand or skim its surface. Here's another question: Why has the rest of the Islamic/Moslem world not decried the B2 bmbings on Iran's facilities? Because they wanted this to happen, and probably has quietly urged the US to do it, especially the Saudis and Sunni Iraqis and the rest of them in the region with the possible -- possible -- exception of quasi-sponsor if Islamofascist terrorism Qatar. And maybe now the two-faced Qataris will shift position. to back the US and in doing so also quietly venture to forge diplomatic relations with Israel. We also know why Netanyahu wants his multiple wars to continue -- to keep him out of the courts while he tries again and again to dismantle the country's Supreme Court, which wants to hang him by his tiny testicles. But make no mistake that Trump has ulterior motives for bombing Iran's nuclear facilities. If you think he's the ultimate American peacemaker for the Middle East and all of its hypocritical, murderous, racist soul, then you'd be wrong. For oil and gas (again)? That's a no-brainer. So what skin does TACO Trump have in this game of regional geopolitical chickenshit? The next few days, weeks or months will be telling -- in more ways than one. But the Jewish lobby is just one step ahead of US foreign and defense policies, both of which, under the other two filthy lying turkeys Rubio and Hegseth, isn't going anywhere but, I dare say, will step on the gas. rump does not work for the murderous madman Vladimir Putin, but he does for the Jewish lobby, Netanyahu and the parade of Zionist asses.

Oh, forgot to add: Pakistani's nominating Trump for the Nobel Prize isn't a fantastical surprise. But it is a Pakistani fantasy. The South Asian country is flat bleeding broke. Bankrupt. And Pakistanis bankrupted their own country, especially is own capitalist and political classes, renowned for decades for their unabashed corruption and parasitic reliance on state finances. After the Americans turned off the aid tap to Pakistan, the numbskulls in Islamabad ran into the arms of China. But it seems China isn't that keen to flood the corrupt and unstable Pakistani regime with yuan -- at not in exchange for some strategic Pakistani goodies. But while Pakistan's military and Intelligence play kingmakers in that shithole, the political and remnants of the rentier capitalists are hoping that by kissing TaCo Trump's ass he'd bathe them with US aid. I'm not saying this isn't possible, given TACO has special meaning for the likes of Trump, but it is unlikely Trump will re-commence aid to bankrupt Pakistan. Being in TACO's good graces is like stepping into a pit of unforgiving rattlesnakes.

Your rant is too long for a detailed rebuttal, but I'll leave you with a couple of points to ponder:

1. If Trump Always Chickens Out (TACO), how do you explain his decision to bomb Iran's nuclear sites?

2. Trump said he would make a decision within the next two weeks. That doesn't mean he would wait a full two weeks before making that decision.

Thank you for making my day just a smidgen more positive. If you are representative of the left wing opposition to Trump's agenda then he has absolutely nothing to worry about.

And you leave Philip Bowring alone. He's a damn good journalist of years standing and far better educated than you'll ever be.

If he was a damn good journalist, he would not have ended up where he is, with a pitifully small audience and the likes of you defending him.

Showing your blithe, uneducated ignorance again, McGarry? He also writes for Nikkei Asia and The South China Morning Post, among others. Do you know who else writes for platforms like this, on Substacks: the former columnist of the New York Times, Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize for Economics winner and economics professor at CUNY. There are many others who write in or for the alternative media. Not that you'd know because, well, you're so goddamn lazy and unschooled.

So when you don't like what one says, you call it a rant? Good one. What do you call TACO Trump's rants -- gospel truth? You show such awful naivety, McGarry. (1) Trump bombed Iranian sites based on a couple of his advisors' lunatic ideas, and none of them are international relations or gexperts in geopolitics and statecraft. They're as ignorant as the clueless Trump -- Little Mommy's Boy -- has been all his life. (2) He acted on the lunatic warmongering whims of the corrupt and tyrannical Benjamin Netanyahu, who is so desperate to avoid war by prolong wars on all fronts and opening up the road to Iran is another of his cowardice. And Trump, being who he is -- ignorant bozo -- fell for it. Why? He can sell Israel whatever weapons he can that aren't listed as US aid to Israel. Which is the rentier state -- the US or Israel? (3) Who has influence over US White House decision-making -- TACO Man, Wall Street, US MNCs, Israel, or the monied Jewish lobby? Shows out your ignorance, doesn't it, McGarry? Go join Trump. Or at least try to spend time thinking about how Trump operates (prepared for over 40 years of research reading, fella? Can you stomach it?)

4. Two weeks doesn't mean two weeks? You're a simpleton, McGarry. You're probably a TACO lover too (seems that way).

5. I am neither on the left or the right of politics or the economy. And I'm not afraid of being wrong. But at least I can think independently of journalists, hacks and morons like Trump and of course McGarry.

All I had to do was see the name of the author of this article to know what it contained. I have to ask: what have the Jews done to Philip Bowring to elicit such hatred? The misprepresentation of facts was crude and so strewn with errors that it's not worth writing a detailed rebuttal. If the author had any sense of honour he woulld withdraw his article and confine himself to subjects that don't inspire him to such wanton dishonesty.
