The 'Trilemma' of Korean Nuclear Negotiations

Restarting talks faces deep problems

It is time to acknowledge that solving the North Korean nuclear issue won’t be achieved in a short period of time. However, we should not abandon ongoing negotiations. Recognizing North Korea as a nuclear state brings us closer to a dystopia where arms races and vulnerability to the security dilemma create a vicious cycle.
