Quote: "Should he let the International Criminal Court have Duterte?" Boy o'boy, what a question! Of course Marcos Jr should let the ICC have Duterte -- by the neck. But that's not the point. It's not a question of should, in terms of realpolitiks but a matter of whether Marcos Jr can. Does he have the political will to throw Duterte under a rocketing train? Answer is no. First of all, he has to show gumption to change the law that re-inserts Philippines into the ICC. But that won't happen when the Duterte has put his henchmen in positions that could easily undermine Marcos Jr's stay at Malacanang. Duterte isn't dumb. He is a coward, though, the way he went about murdering drug users (I have no sympathy, however, for drug pushers and drug syndicates operating anywhere in the world). His extrajudicial killings are beyond doubt a matter for the ICC. But having pulled the Philippines out of the ICC's purview, the international body is non-effective in the Philippines. Any would have seen what Duterte was up to. That's what cowards do. Marcos Sr was no different in the way he went about his dictatorship of the Philippines while he and his wife Imelda looted the country to near-bankruptcy and then, like cowards, fled the country with the help of the pathetic Americans who willingly propped up dictatorships and financed them too. This will be an important test case for Marcos Jr on what to do about the ICC and Duterte. My bet is that he won' date touch the murderous douchebag. Sorry, strong words, I know, but I can't stand that scum for killing people and lording of the weak and the poor but kept nurturing his corrupt political class and enriching his business cronies. What's to say the same isn't happening under Marcos Jr?

Drugs prohibition is pointless and more destructive than any drug consumption issue...
