It is truly saddening that I watch again how the 1% who own 67% of Thai property and wealth treat their own.

Prime Minister Prayut would have to be the most corrupt and sycophantic leader ever to grace the Thai Parliament.

With his nose firmly stuck in the Kings rear black hole the people are being sucked dry economically by a self centred murderous and inbred King. It is time that the people rise up and take control. Both The monarchy and Government are engaged in treasonous enterprises and must be held to account.

This protest is normal.Royalties in most countries are abolished or reduced to play a ceremonial role and given due respect by the new constitution.Thailand was one of the exceptions where the former king was godified. He lived to that image and the military was powerful.Times have changed and the new heir did not measure to his father. He was a human being with kingly weaknesses. It reminded of the North Korean leader who killed his own brother who had become a playboy. In the Thai case, having disposed the democratically elected government the Thai army had to face two mammoth opposition:the citizen and the royalty.A traditional ally of the royalty, the army, could not go on stiffling and killing its own people who make up the forces. The only solution is to have an election, run freely,by international observers, and diffusing the powers of the army and making people power the ultimate solution. The elected representative will then decide to take all the royal assets as goverment's and change the constitution to make the king like in Malaysia:powerless under normal democratic rule and in emergency given the power to decide.Thailand should decide its future immediately before the country sinks into anarchy which will affect all neighbouring countries.

If you want the majority of Thais support you need to pay them in some way or another.

Thats what Thaksin did, and it worked.

I drove from BKK to Surin 2 days before the protests and there were about 300+ police cars with blue lights driving from Korat to BKK.

But none from our village joined the demonstrations.

Because no mini-vans organazied.

How else do you want 20 Million relatively poor farmers to join the protests?

You can call him corrupt, like all Thai elite, but Thaksin was way smarter. He had the backing of the majority back in 2006.

I believe lots of more work need to be done by the current movement and a better strategy.

About the water cannons, of course they were there. One of my ex-colleagues said it hurt like a bastard.

Could not agree more with Nopparat. Thai problems should be solved by Thai. You guys disguise yourself as News Agency but actually economic Hyenas. You deliberately not reported Future Forward fraud. This government came because of what? Thai allows the constitution 250senates’ special right to select the prime minister whose mandate is to eradicate corruption and justice inequality. PM Prayut, given all the necessary tools, have failed this mandate. This is a just cause for the uprising of the students. Thai observes this movement closely.

Too much fake news in social media and this article is one. The majority of Thai do not support the protesters. There are politicians back up the protest and we will solve this incident by ourselves. We hope that other country especially USA and EU will not step into the incident.

Thailand is not a democratic society and it will not succeed.Any dramatic changes will indeed create chaos and serious breakdowns all around.

It's ludicrous to see a post claiming to speak for the Thai people. You don't speak for anyone, but yourself. I'm surprised I even have to say this. It should be obvious to everyone. Why is it not ?

If anything, it demonstrates how deeply the society is ingrained with the feudal mindset. "They don't matter! Only we do!" Tragically, many Thais can't see the absurdity of this. It's just so natural for them and that's why many people want to turn this around!!

Many people stay in the circle of like-minded people, online and offline. It doesn't mean that everyone agrees with you.

When I read one of the comments from presumably a foreigner, I almost cried. Yes, we live in a poor country where the king is worth more than 60 billon and we still pay him through our meagre taxes when he is exempted from any taxes whatsoever. If this is not tragic, I don't know what is and several years ago, many people said we were too poor a country to have free healthcare.

Thailand 🇹🇭 a land of smile and the "Thai Rak Thai" mouth piece of the people in this kingdom. Seriously the present king is and should be replaced by the Princess pantik as a Queen or Royal Head of Thailand which most of it subject love and respect for it care and love for it citizens.

The headline is misleading.

Most of Thai people still love and fully respect their King.

The amount of the protesters can not compare to whom there aren't on the street.

The mob has issued fake news with an announcement in both Thai and English, saying that the government has used violence to dissipate the protesters on the morning of October 15. Let me tell you the truth about what happened.

.

I am a Thai person living in America. When people in Thailand are sleeping, it is daytime in America and I am in front of my computer working and watching live reports from the Prachathai website, which everyone knows supports the Red Shirts and the protesters. I watch live reports from other channels as well.

.

The truth is, police did not use violence or tear gas against the protesters. Instead, they used a lawful method of walking in close formation with their shields, and giving verbal warnings to the protesters. However, the Prachathai website itself showed that when the protesters reached the Urupong intersection, they threw glasses and rocks to policemen at exactly 5:57, and then at precisely 6:00 they walked away until they crossed the Ururpong junction, and after that it was over.

People of the world should be made aware that the current minority protesters in Bangkok do not represent the majority of Thai people who dearly love our Royal family and strongly support our Government which brought peace & prosperity to Thailand for many years since it gained power.

The previous two PM's were corrupt and were exiled, and their red shirt followers are shamefully using ill informed young students to regain power.

Do not believe the International news which is heavily biased against our elected Government and supports these increasingly violent demonstrations, just as they have done throughout the world.

Their agenda is obvious to all peace loving people and should be rejected.
