Where I used to weep in rage over the daily Covid deaths, now I weep for joy over the selflessness and doing good of the community pantries. Thank you for this beautifully written story.

Yes! An action, reaction well depicted, especially the why's and the comprehensive research of Ms. Yabes who has personal knowledge of the area. I concur being from the area and the University since high school, as well . . .

Supress the hungry people, suppress the people trying to help. This is what this government is doing.

“Magbigay ayon sa kakayahan. Kumuha batay sa pangangailangan.”

English translation: “From each according to ability. To each according to need.”

A Tagalog adoption of Karl Marx that made General Parlade see RED. Ana Patricia Non saw acute hunger and provided a need. Hungry people responded gratefully to Ana and ignored government’s criminal negligence. General Parlade saw crowds of people eroding government authority & power over them.

Worse, the community mutual food aid virus has spread rapidly across the country. Further exposing government’s malignant neglect of people’s basic needs. Subversion of government authority & power has metastasized nationwide.

Keep up the good work, people. This government deserves subversion & withdrawal of support until it evaporates from the face of the earth. Inshallah.

Am in tears again. I used to weep in rage over the daily covid-19 deaths. Now I weep for joy over the growing community pantry movement and the selfless simplicity of its "give what you can, take what you need" framework (magbigay ayon sa kakayahan, kumuha ayon sa pangangailangan / from each according to ability, to each according to need). Thank you for this beautifully written story and long live Patreng Non! You and those who took up your call are a breath of fresh air! May your tribe increase!
