This is going to be interesting to watch. Stepping on your neighbour's toe unnecessarily.

Let's see which one of them barks first.

It is sad that there are still nations wanted world domination over peace and prosperity

Perfectly said. This article underscores China's shameless attempt at establishing hegemony in the South China Sea

This 9dash line is very despotic and stupid move of China. It is a work of ignorant, uncivilized people. They don't care what the world may say.

And sadly enough, they can think this way because they could literally get away with stuff like this and the rest of the world will still be hooked on Made-In-China stuff.

yeah perhaps to all that

Stop calling South "China" Sea, they think because there is "China", it belongs to them.

Yes. It's a sea south of China, west of Philippines, East of Vietnam and North of Malaysia. It does not belong all to China. China must learn to respect international maritime law. Lawlessness creates chaos, disorder... If the great Chinese philosopher Kung Fu Tzu were alive, he would have stopped Xi from doing this illogical claim because this is greediness and lawlessness.

The war of civilizations rightfully belongs in this space and in the political and economic war between the West and countries that support it on the one hand, and China on the other. For "the East is East and the West is West and Never the Twain shall meet". China has made a great effort in reaching out. Thee West has not reciprocated as graciously or favourably.

China is a great civilization and a great nation. It has many positive contributions and advantages to share with the world. China's problems are not theirs alone to shoulder. Its rise to modernize and its success particularly in commerce and industry is phenomenal. China's entry into the free market world was predicated on the economic, political and social decline of the Western industrial revolution.

They made mistakes as did the West. However it was the West that infused that paranoia in China that has led it to now pull back and antagonise those closest to it and weaker than it in order to contain the spread of Western influence and support in the region.

The rise of Xi Jin Peng was unfortunately not read correctly by China observers in the West. The Tian An Mein rebellion funded and instigateed by the West was an eye opener to the Chinese. They held kept their powder dry and powered on with the West.

Then in recent years the levels of corruption in public office in China nurtured and sanctioned by the West offering comfort and protection to those who stole from the Chinese public purse gave rise to the ultra conservatives like Xi Jin Peng. He is a Mao purist.

Thee Bo Xi Lai affair proved the irrefutable proof of Western meddling and infiltration of China's government sector was perhaps the finall straw and seminal event that cemeented the need to revert to a de Westernization of a more assertive stance by the Chinese.

Unfortunately Xi Jin Peng's methods are of a time and era gone by, harsh and very much in your face.

Xi is shoving it all in the face of the liberals within his party and throughout the region.

What the Chinese appear to be saying is that tolerance should not be interpreted as stupidity. And that if the West wants to contain it, they must be prepared to be contained themselves and that China has the means to do it.

You seem to be promoting a very inaccurate and 1 sided view. China's Industrial rise was due to Western funding, in return it didn't repay its debts, stole the technology and then used that income to attack the very people that had helped bring their society out of poverty. The same people that helped bring them into the global governing bodies etc. It uses state funded industry to flood markets with below cost goods and once the competitors are destroyed it then uses its leverage to get whatever it really wanted in the 1st place. It is an insidious regime and won't stop until its got what it wants. I fear for the likes of PH, Malay, India, Vietnam etc. China has a grudge to bear and it will go after each of them when the time is right.

We cannot say things right that is obviously wrong. Right..

Yes. "Tolerance should not be interpreted as stupidity." Now, apply that statement to the Philippines' point of view. Arrogance and careless illegal actions and claims may just bring China to cause another world war.

China elders lack education. All they know in life, is to lie, kill their own, steal what is not theirs and be confrontation. The world armies should teach them a lesson.

When I read the second paragraph about the supposed "2016 international court ruling" which is totally inaccurate and false, I can tell your biasness on the subject. Please carefully check your facts before writing this article.

Expand full comment

What exactly is inaccurate or false?

The ruling was quite clear, the nine dash line was not legally enforceable. China ignored it and extended the territory they claim in the new maps.

The article seems to be accurate and genuine to me.

also read and understand it carefully the Phil side before you shout!! youre the biased one! faggot!

And china even didn't send a representative to contest the case brought by the Phil to the International court,, hence they lost because yey cannot defend their position

It's not like China was barred from attending the hearings.

It's their volition to not defend their position by not appearing in hearings.

Caution must be taken when dealing with them, even taiwan. They are generally lawless. When they say they will invest, their mou means it will not happen. When they commit to supplying materials long term, the quality, delivery time, price and payment terms WILL change.

This south china sea maritime deal, they do not care. Kinda like elon musk of a nation.
