China, India Back Away from Himalayan Standoff

After nine months of a tense military standoff in Ladakh along the Line of Control, the informal border that separates them, India and China are in the first tenuous steps to a consensual, multi-step disengagement by agreeing to withdraw thousands of their troops from the contested Pangong Tso glacial lake in the western Himalayas.
