This article lacks the rigor of good journalism. It fails to distinguish between superstitions , home remedies and a TCM practice that incorporates scientific research and clinical trials . There are superstitions and home remedies in the west too so do Asian readers a favour and stop painting practices in Asks as backward. Other than quoting Mao who is not a TCM practitioner and was expressing a personal opinion, did the writer interview TCM practitioners? There are many outside of China too. The writer should take a leaf from his own words to separate political agenda from the medical practice of TCM. Note that CCP doesn't stand in for all things and practices Chinese. This is a continuing practice of ccolonialism. Not surprisingly , the writer doesn't even identify himself. How does the editors of Asia Sentinel justify publishing this article?
