Photos and videos from the past week in Burma.

One of the most gripping aspects of the deadly drama unfolding in the streets of Rangoon and elsewhere across Burma is the determination of ordinary people to supply the world with images of the protests and the regime's brutal response. Because of the presence of everyday technology like cellphones and small digital cameras we know far more about what is happening inside the country than the regime could have imagined. It is no longer enough to shut journalists out of a country to prevent information from reaching the outside world. The overlords of Burma are learning that their own people constitute a press corps of sorts, processing images in an instant and — so far at least — denying the regime a place to hide.

Below we package together some of the images and videos that have caught our attention this week.

These pictures and videos will be very valuable one day for they are the evidence of what really happened in Burma. We as people living outside of Burma are much much luckier than the people who lives inside. These pictures and videos show how the murderous government of Burma value little for the human lives including the unarmed Buddhists monks. The most sad part is China interfering into the affairs of the Burmese people. If China and Chinese don’t want to help Burmese people achieve freedom and democracy that’s fine, please don‘t “destroy” the efforts of the Burmese people struggle for freedom and democracy. China should mind her own business, at least China can stay “abstain” in the UNSC resolution that the majority seeks for Burmese people’s freedom and democracy and punish the repressive unlawful, illegal murderous military regime. But China didn’t stay “abstain” and use “veto” power to block the UNSC mandate. This clearly shows the intention of China towards the Burmese people and seriously interfere into the affairs of the Burmese people and Burma. Don’t want to help Burmese fine OK leave Burmese and Burma alone and don’t block or interfere in the struggle for freedom. China herself is not a free nation. China’s leader Chairman Mao also is a mass murderer. That’s China’s history, China’s affair, but please don’t try to destroy the efforts and struggle of the Burmese people for democracy and freedom and interfere in Burma‘s affairs. This is the most serious violation China had committed towards freedom lovers and democracy adorers. One day pay back time will come for China for China herself is not free of problems. What goes around, comes around. History will never forget the indecent behavior of China’s veto blockage at UNSC making UN look disgrace and ineffective world organization where just because of one veto the entire mandate can be stop still or squashed. This is the kind of system we had in UN. The UN itself is polluted with outdated rules, regulations and system. Equally China is responsible for these sad events that happened in Burma for China and Russia (another mass murderer leader in her history/Stalin) had vetoed the UNSC resolution to solved this cruel regime’s oppression. The blood of the Burmese and the monks are stained on China too.

I hope/wish I live in the 23rd Century for 21st Century “minds” are so primitive and the attitudes and knowledge sucks. I’m sick and tired of today’s mentality and attitudes.

Bloggers: High Tech Freedom Fighters
written by bookbagwarrior , September 28, 2007
The heroism of "ordinary people" turned freedom fighters on the ground in Burma is answered by "ordinary people", bloggers turned high tech freedom fighters armed with PDAs,mobile phones, and lap tops. The pen was mightier than the sword in history's revolutions...May the Internet be mightier than the gun...today in Burma.
