ImageOnce he departs, what form will Tibet's religious and governmental structure take?

On Monday, the Dalai Lama was taken to hospital in his exile capital of Dharmasala in the hill country of India with arm pains that apparently stemmed from a pinched nerve. He was released a few hours later. That follows a hospitalization last October for gallstones, and another in August with abdominal pain.

The hospitalizations have raised growing concern that with the inevitable passing of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, 73, the very form of Tibetan Buddhism will change dramatically. The religious leader himself has speculated that the 15th Dalai Lama could even be a female, leading a democracy.

Speculation is growing that after 50 years in exile and with precious little to show for it in China itself in the way of freedom for Tibetans, the Dalai Lama may retire soon, a perplexing and frightening prospect for the 5 million Tibetans and 150,000-odd exiles who fled in the decade after the Chinese invaded. The Chinese themselves have cracked down heavily recently, partly in reaction to bloody riots by the Tibetans last year and partly because of the approach of the 50th anniversary of the takeover.

Given the religious leader's inability to move the Chinese to give more autonomy to the region, exiles in Dharmasala, their exile base in the hills of India, are more cautious in seeking to strengthen what they call their middle-way approach in which Tibet would become a self-governing democratic political polity founded on law within China.

"I have grown old and already taken semi-retirement," the Dalai Lama said in a recent interview. "It is better if I retire completely and get out of the way of the Tibetan movement."

But what happens after the Tibetan Diaspora's most iconic figure departs the scene? In Tibetan Buddhism, reincarnation is not a life force that passes from body to body. It may lie dormant for an indeterminate period – perhaps years – before a complicated series of omens points to a reborn Dalai Lama. In the meantime, a remay reign. According to the faith, Tibetan religious leaders have been reborn again and again, for at least 750 years, when Kublai Khan, the Mongol warrior, recorded a visit to the isolated Buddhist kingdom. Certainly none of them has been a woman.

The Dalai Lama leads one of several sects, each considered to be a living Buddha, reincarnated in an endless series of new religious leaders. The Chinese have sought to end the practice, somewhat incongruously believing they can select their own reincarnated figures, an interesting belief for a nation that is officially atheist. In 1995, for example, after Tibetan leaders announced that the then-six year old Gedhun Choekyi Nyima had been named the 11th reincarnation of the Panchen Lama, Tibet's second-highest ranking religious figure, Chinese authorities spirited him out of Tibet and named their own, Gyancain Norbu, in his place.

The Dalai Lama is probably China's most reviled opponent. He has been denounced repeatedly as a "splittist" for advocating autonomy for the Tibetan region, although he has expressed a willingness to work, within the Chinese system. It is almost certain if a Tibetan child is named the 15th Dalai Lama on Tenzin Gyatso's death, he will be removed from the region as well. Certainly Tibetans in exile widely believe the Chinese will choose their own "reincarnation" as they did with the Panchen Lama. Some say the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley, who belongs to the Black Hat School of Tibetan Buddhism, might lead the Tibetan government in exile. The most likely candidate for the regency is the 23-year-old Karmapa Lama, the third highest in the Tibetan Buddhist hierarchy, who was born and raised in Tibet but escaped to India in 2000 in a dramatic trek that took him across Nepal and into India to Dharmasala.

Passing of a dinosaur

The dalai lama is a symbol of the long gone era of tibetan feudalism. For westerners who support the dalai lama blindly, please go and study the history of Tibet and check for yourself what life was like for the peasant serfs who live under the rule of the dalai lama. They were practically starving slaves. The dalai lama can dream of sitting on the throne like an emperor lording it over the his serfs. But it will remain as what it is, a pipe dream. Westerners who talk of preserving the east in their old historic "culture" are talking about preserving the east as a backward museum for the westerners to gauk at. It mus thrill them to see Tibetans prostrating on the ground as the "walk" or rather "worm" their way from their villages to the mighty dalai lama's monastery. Makes for such a fantastic video shoot to take home to show their friends what they saw in Tibet.

Tibet will live on
written by Gyame Kyaktsar, February 03, 2009
This is an important question. While I am tempted to respond to the self-serving, regurgitation of cultural revolution era Chinese propaganda, I will refrain from it but rather speak as a Tibetan.

Here are my thoughts on after Dalai Lama Tibet ...

Tibetans will be devastated and will feel like an orphan. There will be chaos and huge vacuum for leadership within the movement. Tibetans will start taking an ownership on the issue and will use whatever means possible. There will be a violent movement -- not by design but from despair.

Time is running out for China: The Dalai Lama is the only person who can sell the idea of a "Middle Way" or Tibet as part of China to the Tibetans. The Dalai Lama is China's only hope for a lasting resolution on this issue. No one, after the Dalai Lama, will have the moral authority and the sway to convince the Tibetans that they should embrace the Chinese national anthem and the flag as their own. Time will run out for China and when it does, the future generation of Chinese will not treat the current leaders very kindly when they realise how big a sacrifice Tibetans have made in calling for the "Middle Way".
Tibet will live on in the hearts of Tibet and a time will come in the future when Tibet will be free. Until then, Tibetans will be ready becoming the symbol of hope and a black mark for China. China will never gain legitimacy of a true super power as long as the issue of Tibet remains unresolved. Tibetans in Tibet have never sold their souls and never will to China.

The old liar can never return to his hometown. He used western countries for his course and western countries also use him to jeopardize China's progress. He knows he is only a tool, but he cannot change it. He will be replaced by a new tool. That's there destination. We just need to enjoy the show.

Free Tibet?
written by TonyP4, February 03, 2009
Free Tibet, my foot

Please do not liberate my country. I understand your energy, good nature and idealism. I was the same when I was at your age. I hope you’re there to protest for China when your ancestors pushed opium to China.

It is history that the Britain’s evil parliament approved to send warships to enforce the opium trade to China. What do you call a country pushing opium? The alliance of foreign countries to burn China’s summer palace, looted all the treasures… The ruin should be a required tourist site for all European foreigners. All the museums in Europe should classify whether the Chinese treasures are loots and posted if necessary.

First, thanks you all. Now, I’m a naturalized US citizen collecting generous welfare benefits. You do not understand how my life has been improved staying here. Just imagine living in the highest mountain in your country year round.

There are always folks wanting to be kings and queens. They have their ambitions and revolutionary ideas. The last ones went to India after the failed revolt sponsored by CIA. They do not speak for the common folks who just want a peaceful life.

News on Tibet must feed a lot of reporters in the west but hurt their conscience. Some are not true. The recent Tibetan riot was started when Han Chinese were murdered but was reported wrongly with photos that were bought and modified to indicate it was the other way round.

The Chinese will not give up Tibet. It is the major water source for most of Asia. We get more from the Chinese than giving back. Our standard of living improves substantially and so is our literacy rate.

The new train and the proposed 750 small dams to generate electricity are recent gifts. I bet the extraction of natural Chinese will improve our living standard further. It is the same as opening a casino in an Indian reservation. The benefits outnumber the drawbacks.

China had been ruled by Mongolians and Manchurians. We’re one of the 55 minorities, same as the blacks in your country or the Quebec French in Canada. Dali Lama must be the best salesman on earth with the circus of silly and most likely uneducated Hollywood celebrities. If there were one like him for Mongolia, one for Manchuria, you guys will be busy for a long while.

Unless you can convince your congress to send soldiers to ‘liberate’ us, please do not stir up our rebellious sentiment towards the Chinese. The more you do, the more our folks suffer and ‘disappear’.

Spend your energy elsewhere. The choices are unlimited: CEOs enjoying outrageous benefits/bonuses from companies receiving bailouts, or killing Iraq babies in a war you cannot afford. Hope you folks can find the mass destruction weapon in Iraq sometimes.

Everywhere in China, you see Tibetan cultures have been maintained – different from what your ‘reporters’ report. All the minorities have been exempted from the one-child policy. Check out the following link. Do they look oppressed to you?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVaPR0mFFio&feature=related

It sounds like propaganda. I want you to know that I have no connection with the Chinese government. Your action on the wheel-chair torch bearer for Olympic showed the world how barbarious and coward you are.

I just want to be realistic and the world at least mine will be more peaceful without your demonstrations.

Reincarnation
written by Sakya, February 03, 2009
Tibetans are only passing through. If they're under occupation today then they have to accept their karma. They are in fact paying for their past sins. And if they don't behave themselves again during this lifetime they might reincarnate in the dark continent or even as animals to be eaten.

Perhaps the time has come for the Dalai Lama to leave his shell and reincarnate as a head of state somewhere. After all, he was a serf owner once.

Old Fox in sheep clothing
written by Li Siah, February 03, 2009
The mercedes chauffered jet hopping monk can fool the west into believing that it is "peaceful" to burn shops and houses, to loot, and to kill. But let's call arsonists and killers for what they really are: arsonists and killers. Tibet has been part of China for centuries and will always be, until thy kingdom come. Tibet has been part of China longer than the existence of the nations of USA, Australia and New Zealand which were usurped by anglo saxons who killed off the natives and robbed their land. Tibet was freed of serfdom and slavery when the high-living dalai lama and his entourage were deposed. And of course these once high-living monks missed their high and mighty life style, and yearn for it. They have become a convenient tool for western agencies to use for China bashing. China shall rise, and Tibet shall remain as part of China. And those trouble making arsonist monks better realise it.

The rest of China is subsidizing Tibet
written by Su Siah, February 03, 2009
The old little fox is lying to the world, and the western agencies are happily usinghim to bash China.
China is spending so much money on Tibet, that the rest of China envies the Tibetans' good fortune. Hey, please build a high speed rail from Shanghai to MY home town. We will be happy to receive the millions of Shanghainese tourists. We need a good railway and a good shot in the arm for the economy. And yeah, please do help my home town get modernized into the 21st century. If the Tibetans don't want that development, we are more than happy to receive even half of what they get.

Glaring Chinese double standards
written by The fool, February 04, 2009
Chinese posters defy logic. If a Westerner says China should adopt democracy, elections, free speech etc, they reply, shut up, we have a different system and you cannot criticise us. Yet at the same time they see no double standards in telling Tibetans they should drop feudalism and serfdom. Why is that?

Dalai Lama
written by Mao, February 04, 2009
Dalai Lama has foresaken the Social and spiritual developments for the maintenance of a Mediaval fuedal serf system that has been unchanged for centuries since the Yuan emperor bestow the title on his predecessor in the 14th century. Unlike more enlighten 10th Panchen Lama, It is unfortunate that he has teamed up with the reactionary higher monk class, Indian and foreign forces to keep back Tibet development for the benefits of imperialists and Indiana Jones type archaelogists who came to Tibet to pillage Buddhist arts and to observe the backward social laboratory.

Should he pass away, the living Buddhas in Tibet would definitely choose a more worthy successor born from China. It is likely that the exiles may also select another rival born outside or smuggle from China. As tradition goes from the fifth Dalai onwards, only the one with approval from China can be crowned successor.

Westerners love to tell other countries what to do.
written by Xiao Ping, February 04, 2009
Tibet is part of China. And China decides how to govern Tibet. It is as simple as that. We don't tell western countries how to run their country. Similarly we expect the westerners to mind their own blady business. The westerners are still their condescending selves, going around poking their noses into others' backyards, instead of cleaning their own crap first. For a start, USA should stop occupying Iraq, and pay compensation to rebuild all the Infrastructure they destroyed, and all the tens of thousands of lives they killed or maim. And then they can also go clean up their financial system first, after allowing their bankers to pinch trillions of dollars of their people's money. And go clean up your Gitmo and return that part of the island to Cuba. You have a clean government??? Even Obama has admitted indirectly how corrupt the "lobbyist" system is!!!

Oh free us to be serfs and slaves again, and send me back to abject poverty
written by HUMBLE SERF, February 04, 2009
Oh great dalai lama and the western friends, please come and save us Tibetans. Free us from the Chinese government and their efforts to modernize us. We want the dalai lama to send us back a few centuries to be serfs and slaves again. We only want to prostrate at their feet in the monastery. We do not want our children to get a modern education to aspire to be doctors, engineers, teachers, businessmen, executives. We only want them to be monks. And save us from that terrible modern rail. And we don't want buses and cars. We prefer to walk. And we don't want modern housing with piped water and heated baths. We prefer out ancient method: no showers, and you can smell us coming from a mile away. And save us from the tourists. We prefer to make a living digging dirt with a crude hoe and pick, and collecting dung for fuel. And save us from having to learn Chinese language to get jobs more easily. We prefer to learn the ancient scripts so that we can be smelly monks. Oh please save us from the modern clothes they sell in the stores. We prefer to wear the crude skins we make at the farms. And please save us from those modern computers. We prefer to live our ancient ways so that the westerners have a chance to come to "study" us before we get polluted by Chinese culture.

Xiao Ping, Tibet is a DISPUTED part of China. Those who disagree with you are not allowed to articulate their point of view in China. Correct? I'm not taking sides, but just pointing out that you don't like Westerners criticising your single party political system, yet you have no problems telling others how their political systems should operate. Whether they are in China or not is irrelevant; it's the fact that there are people out there who hold an alternative point of view to you. And they deserve to be heard whether you like it or not.

I have made two visits to Tibet, the first time was in 2002, and the second time in 2008. There has been improvements in hygiene in the town area, as well as improvement in social facilities. While I do not understand the political intricacies, I do know that economically Tibetans are makiing progress.

smilies/cry.gif Once again, we are subjected to all the racist remarks from the Chinese chauvinists on Tibet. With the display of "Han Chauvinism" that we continue to see on the net posts, do you see ever the possibly that Tibetans could live fairly in Tibet under China's rule? I am more fearful of a democratic China than I am of the current regime. At least I know what to expect of the ruthless communists.

With all the access to free and diverse sources, majority of the Han chooses to only trust Xinhua and the Chinese government sources. Look deep inside you and ask this question... DO YOU HONESTLY EVER TRUST XINHUA? If you cannot normally trust Xinhua, then why would you only recite Xinhua and CCP's position on Tibet?

I don't understand why the Dalai Lama has so much hope for the Chinese people.

Mao, yes but you have to admit there are Tibetans who are dissatisfied with the Beijing regime. Why should they not be allowed to put their views to the public ie their Han brothers and sisters in the Chinese media?

In Scotland they are talking about pursuing independence from Britain. There are people in England who disagree with them, but no one will deny them the right to debate and pursue independence. Personally, I don't care if Scotland declares independence. What right have I got in Birmingham to tell someone Edinburgh how they should be governed? Why can't the CCP adopt this democratic approach? You should really open your mind beyond your narrow nationalistic outlook. It's really outdated.

I welcome your hate and anger !
written by Joe Hamilton, February 04, 2009
I personally prefer it when the chicoms openly express their negative views, hate and anger when "discussing " Tibet or His Holiness the Dalai Lama !

It shows the level of negativity in your ranks that will also lead to your downfall.

Tibetans will never accept the chinese as their masters.

And why should they ?

The chinese had their chance and blew it !

Now they can´t even keep the monks and nuns quiet without killing them or throwing them in jail for the rest of their days.

The pathetic thing is when China still talks about their great deeds in Tibet.

They have repeated this so often that they really believe it !

But Tibetans don´t...and never will !

You can´t change the truth.

The truth " Made in China " is, like everything else with this trademark, a cheap, probably poisoned, copy that is of such low quality that it just can´t hold up for long !

Make your own truth...we are just not buying it anymore !

Canes and Carrots don't work in Tibet. Learn from the West. Populate Tibet with Hans.
written by Deng Xiao Ping, February 04, 2009
China should learn from the West. It is very obvious that even if Beijing pumps in trillions of dollars to develop Tibet to push up the economy and the literacy rate of Tibet, there will still be no appreciation of this carrot. So why not follow the steps of USA, Australia, New Zealand, etc. The white anglo saxons swamped their newly stolen land with a large population of anglo saxons and make the original natives become a small minority in their home land. Like wise Beijing should actively swamp Tibet with Hans and other ethnic groups. That will solve the problem once and for all, and there will be no more talk about independence. At the same time, educate the local Tobetans to free their mind of the feudal system, and integrate them into the rest of China, so that they feel they are part of China. With enough modern trappings of urban life, the Tibetans will abandon their old way of life very fast.

written by General Custer, February 04, 2009
Hu Jin Tao and your fella Commies still have a lot to learn from us Anglo-Saxon democracies on how to handle your native population.

a) Instead of emancipation of the Tibetan Serfs, my cousins in Australiasia have used the natives as Target rabbit practices.

b) Instead of letting Dalai Lama and other native trouble makers to leave, you should have follow me and corral them into badland reservations. Someplace in the Gobi desert should do just fine.

c) Instead of giving them good medications and hygiene, you can de-populate the natives like what we did by giving them fblankets infected with smallpox and other diseases.

d) Instead of improving their incomes like what you did with your subsidies, you should provide the natives with booze like what we did so that they are flat on their back the whole day. I heard your Mao Tai is quite potent.

e) Instead of letting them to govern themselves in Tibet, you should sign unequal treaties like what we did so that they can stay in small reservations.

f) Instead of providing them modern education, you should keep them engrossed in the Buddhist scripture.

If you follow the same quality deeds, the Dalai Lama would have prostrated on his knee and thank you profusely rather than now cursing you in front of Sarkozy and in the West.

Gen Custer: you are so right
written by Admiral Nelson, February 04, 2009
Them commies still got a lot to learn from the west on "population control"
Instead of building airports and railways to make Tibet more accesible, the should have cut Tibet off completely. No roads. No airports. No railway. No phones. No internet. Build plenty of monasteries, encourage all Tibetan men to become monks and vow celibacy, no sex for the rest of their miserable lives. Send all the surplus women to Shenzhen to work and get married off to the Hans to produce Hans offsprings. Soon there will be no more Tibetans to worry about. Stupid commie government.

Let us live the old way.
written by Ripoche, February 04, 2009
Hu Jin Tao, you still don't get what we are saying.

We do not want development and any material comfort.. We want no nonsense education but to recite the sutras. Build us more monastries so that all Tibetan boys can become monks and that we can improve our karma. We do not want to reproduce and pollute the world. We don't need clean running water because we only clean ourselves at birth and death.

...to be trapped in a chicom mind !

All of your comments are completely worthless and of no value to anyone.

To attempt to draw western atrocities into your arguments shows how backward you are.

There are regular protests in the west on all topics and wrongdoings.

Are the people rounded up and tortured ?

I am glad to say NO !

So you all keep struggling with your death-wish mantras !

They will work...on you !

Thank you all for showing how Mao´s illness is still affecting you people.

It makes you weak and you will not have the inner strength to hold up the honest people of China when the day comes !

Soon !

Who cares ?
written by Singapore Ah Lian, February 04, 2009
Look, most of us don't give two hoots whether Tibet is run by the dalai lama or by the commies. And we don't care two hoots whether Tibet remain as a museum piece for the world to gawk at, or if it gets into the 21st century. Tibet is a smelly and dirty place, and most of the people don't take baths regularly. Really stinks. And you Tibetans better wake up. If you think the westerners love you and your cause, you must be deceiving yourself. yeah maybe a few idiot students and hippies may join you at a demonstration in London or Paris. That's about it. Look at the UK government prostrating themselves to get closer to the Chinese government to try to win some contracts. Let's face it, Tibet will NEVER get their independence, rightly or wrongly. So you bunch of exiles, why make the lives of the Tibetans difficult? Beijing just want Tibet to remain part of China. That is the crux of it. As long as you cooperate along that line, and they are willing and happy to invest some stupid money into Tibet, why complain? Beijing gets to keep Tibet as part of China, and you Tibetans get to keep on chanting in your monastery praying to your self proclaimed "god" so that the tourists can continue to gawk at you living in your ancient past, and everybody is happy. And maybe when you clean yourself up and take more baths, maybe more tourists will come to visit you. But if you don't like that, it is OK too, just remain smelly and that will frighten off the tourists and they will leave you alone. OK, maybe I was a bit harsh here, but I wanna call a spade a spade, and not be hypocritical about it. I don't like commies, and I also don't like ancient serfdoms, but anyway who cares. Go on chanting and go on in your self imposed celibacy. You don't need the rest of the world , and we don;t need you too.

Small perturbations within a bigger major force
written by Matthew, February 04, 2009
All these agitations from the buddhist Tibetan exiles to the beijing communist government shall all come to pass. And voices of the white men like Joe pretending to care for Tibetans, but really is nothing more than a anti Chinese, shall come to pass to. Buddhism is a dying religion. And the monastery you see in Tibet will all become just a historical museum. Communism too shallcome to pass, and China will one day be a democratic country ( it is already a capitalist country, but run by CCP). Today the fastest growing religion in China is Christianity. Despite all the persecution by CCP, Christianity is flourishing in China. There are now over 200 Million Christians in China, which is more than the size of CCP. Already some of the CCP members have secretly converted to become Christians. The evangelists have not reached Tibet in a big way yet. Once they do, Tibet shall become a Christian region. So there is really no need for all this agitation between commies and buddhists in Tibet. All this agitation shall pass. Amen.

Ah Lian and her who cares?
written by Nizam, February 04, 2009
Ok man, finally we get one honest bloke here. Yeah who cares about Tibet anyway. It can be a buddhist, commie or whatever place. We don't give two hoots. Haha all those blady commentators here probably have no stake in Tibet anyway. And the commie govt is going about it the wrong way to control Tibet. The more they try to restrict what those Tibetans do, the more they want to stick to their ancient feudal ways. Just open up. Let freedom reigns. Let the modern "decadent lifestyle" run free in Tibet, and things will change by itself. Any Tibetan kid that gets exposed to the modern life, pop music, computer games, the internet, booze, porn, etc would not want to step foot into the monastery to become a celibate monk, Ha! The process would be irreversible, and Buddhism shall crumble overnight, and the mighty dalai lama and its theory or reincarnation will sound weird to that new punky teenager. So you CCP, lighten up man, and let the modern free lifestyle run rife in Tibet.

Rebirth
written by Zuma, February 04, 2009
The majority of Tibetan Chinese are wiser than you think. They know life on earth is but a passage. They are moving on to the next better life. A small number who have no knowledge of reincarnation and Buddhism having been brought up in the West are being manipulated by the West to destablise a strong China. For those who know and understand samsara well know they will return in another shell. In fact the cruel Japanese who massacred the innnocents during the last war are turning up in droves in Cambodia today, suffering. Surprisingly, little kiddies born there have a strange penchant for seafood as though they have had it before in ntheir previous lives. Some could even describe them in Japanese terms. Hair raising . . . .

Sambala
written by Merkel, February 05, 2009
Your Holiness. We Germans have long held you in high regards and supported you in you long and ardous struggle to preserve Traditional Tibetan society and culture. We admired your courage and great compassion when you chose to give up your glided throne and rose in armed rebellion against the Emanicipation of the Serfs by the godless Commie Mao. Verily you are indeed a Great man of Peace and we do honour you as the most worthy holder of the Nobel Peace prize.

While we now have recognised China sovereignty over Tibet which is also your stated wish, we will do our utmost to prod Hu Jin Tao to talk to you and grant you your wishes to establish your Sambala again. However if you still want to have another go at power, we will definitely support you with all the arms and money.

We in Germany hold you in the same breath as the great Fuhrer. Indeed he has dispatched many eminent sociologists to study your great predecessor and his Medieval society. He has hoped to pattern our Super-class German society on your enlightened Sambala society. Indeed, we Germans had picked up quite a bit from your Lamas how to make leather boots; So he also used the same Swastika as his emblem, is it possible he is one of your reincarnated High Lama?

We now know of your holiness long-standing wish of not to reincarnate in China. With Buddha blessings, we now wait your returns as German leader to lead us to Sambala again.

Buddha-speed.

Yes, Me and my dear Anglo-saxons pals, Bliar and Howard had picked up people on the Streets because they sort of look funny. Blair even got some Brazilian idiot gunned down without any question because he looks very frightening. I am proud of my torture records to keep the homeland safe.

By the way, I also get on famously with Hu Jin Tao. I throughly enjoyed his Olympics and I really hope Hu can learn how to handle those dangerous people from me. As I am out of work now, I have been thinking of some evanglising in Tibet. As you know, Tibet is surrounded by those Islamic fascist countries and my Divine father just messaged me that I must make Tibet Christian as a bulwark against the Islamist tide. I think my good friend Hu will agree with my proposition.

“President Bush called the Dalai Lama this morning to express his concern over the Dalai Lama’s health,” said spokesman Gordon Johndroe.

“The president’s call reflects the great esteem he and the American people hold for the Dalai Lama, who is a revered religious figure in Tibetan Buddhism, a Nobel laureate and a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal, and an important cultural figure and human rights advocate,” said Johndroe.

Dont talk with me withforked tongue. History will record that it is Mao as the true Emanicipator of the Tibetan Serfs. You in the West have your hidden agenda when you gang up with the Wily Monk to preserve Traditional Tibetan society and culture. Why don't you allow the Emir Osama of Islam the FREEDOM to preserve the Traditional Islamic society and culture?

Our fellowships now have 200 million brother and sister, the largest of true churchgoing Christian community in the world. We even exceed the Communist members who number only 60 million. We are happy to let the CCP to do all the hard work to provide food and security, meanwhile we are happy evangelising and our fellowships will exceed 1 billion in the next 10 years.

Soon we will take our Good news from Lhasa all the way back to Jerusalem. As Chinese Tibetans receive the Good news, it will not be the Communists but we the Christians who will take back the mandate from the Yuan emperior Kublai Khan and consign the office of Dalai Lama to the dustbin of History.

Viagra! If it works for the Afghan and Iraqi warlords, it should work for the Tibetan monks.
But wait a minute, are there enough women left in Lhasa to cater to the monks? Many of them have left Lhasa to work in other big cities, and would they accept the smelly monks? No, I don't want to even think about it...you know, the way male prisoners behave when there are no women, and on viagra? Have mercy on them!

Save Tibet
written by World Citizen, February 06, 2009
I support Tibet not because I hate China, but because it's their fundamental right to self-govern their affairs and the preservation of their rich culture. It's their right to have freedom to do things that are the most basics of all things in life. They are very peaceful people and we must feel compassion towards those who are suffering. I have friends both Chinese and Tibetans and the only problem that comes in between them is the one party in Beijing that is doing all the damages. I suggest mainland Chinese to open yourself up to the possibilities of truly befriending your neighbors and live in harmony and peace. Don't be persuaded by your media nor by any other medias including BBC, CNN, etc. Think and speak from your heart...truth is so powerful. Save Tibet and Free China!

Polluting Tibet with what? The "gangsta"music which originated from the west? Pollute Tibet with McD and KFC? Or does the west prefer to preserve Tibet as a living museum for their viewing pleasure?
